A little love from our friends..

Just thought I'd share a review or two. Thanks for the warm fuzzies, ya'll.

Great local business. Diana and the girls that work for her are so lovely. I never feel pressure to buy something like I do in other small boutiques. The atmosphere is great. Lets talk about the stuff! Everything in this store is so detailed and luxurious. She carries Prairie Underground, Sven, Velvet, and Matta just to name a few. Diana also makes most of the jewelry, the rose gold rings are my favorite I'm a huge fan of this place and am always looking in the window when I pass by to see whats new. One of the best shops in Park Slope.

And another...

This shop is lovely for a truly stylish gift for yourself or the woman you love. It is beautifully curated and has a top-notch collection of handbags, jewelry and accessories. You "get what you pay for" here (really top-notch quality and design). I also love that this shop continues as one of the first independent stores to make this neighborhood great. I hope people keep discovering it!

And one more..
My favorite boutique for many years because I wear the things I buy on a daily basis, especially accessories, jewelry and loungewear.  I wear Diana Kane earnings every day, regularly get compliments and give them as gifts!  The value is excellent because the cost per use is so low!!

Auntie Oti

Along with Spring, Diana Kane is happy to welcome the arrival of Auntie Oti! These handmade, multi-purpose textiles are what every kitchen/bathroom/closet needs.

Auntie Oti searches India for domestic articles essential to the everyday life of this rich and multi-cultural society. Ordinary consumer items are often produced on a local level. This results in commodities that differ not only region to region, but also village to village. Many goods are made at home on a lone loom and each piece is personified by the individual hand of a skilled artisan. While no two lots are alike, each is beautiful in its unique way.
Each piece can delight in its own singular way. Humble and practical items are often multi-purposed in their functions.  A gent’s woolen shawl becomes an impromptu blanket. The utilitarian gamcha is a towel, a neck scarf, or a head wrap to keep the sun out.  Unadorned simplicity and versatility is why they continue to endure in the pragmatic culture of India today.  A seemingly infinite variety exists within a single category. Plain weave towels with their ever-changing borders, patterns, sizes and color combinations still serve the simple purpose of drying oneself after a bath or doing the dishes after dinner. Even mill woven and machine made goods differ according to the nuances of time, the availability of materials and the area where they are made. All are beautiful.

A little Aki Kano for the holidays..

In preparation for the holiday season gifting madness, we have equipped the store with some of Diana Kane's favorite designers' newest creations. Our latest addition to the Diana Kane floor are the Mari Hobo bags from the local handbag designer, Aki Kano. We love Aki Kano because of her natural ability find that sweet balance between fashion and practicality. Aki's elegant silhouettes and fabulous colors rock our socks off! I mean, who can resist her signature ribbon shaped zipper pulls? Manufactured in NYC, our Mari Hobo bags come in Hot Pink, Ultraviolet, Pewter, Chocolate Brown, and Black.

"My passion is to create simple and stylish bags that are timeless, functional, and are easy to carry.  I create the line with love and get them produced locally in NYC with integrity.  Designing my handbag line constantly energizes and inspires me...." -Aki Kano

matta in the fall

You can't go wrong with matta, but our latest shipment is particularly exciting. Maybe it's the flattering, yet liberating silhouettes.. or maybe it's the cotton and silk combos, or the fabulous detail work...

I think matta fall/winter 13' line is so amazing, however, because of the colors. Look at the COLORS!
