We're happy to announce the return of Marijn Bennett winter hats and braided neck warmers to our shelves! The bright colors and interesting weaving techniques will leave you happy and warm in the winter months to come. Typically made of materials such as wool, alpaca, and cashmere, these hand knitted pieces are the definition of decedent winter wear.  

New Stewart + Brown

Our newest shipment of fall/winter Stewart + Brown pieces are all made from the finest and most luxurious cashmere in the world. The sweaters, gloves and hats that we now carry were produced exclusively with mongolian cashmere. The fibers are hand-combed from the downy undercoat of cashmere goats that habitat the most remote parts of outer Mongolia. The cashmere is harvested in a way to avoid overgrazing and to promote the traditional nomadic lifestyle of the Mongolian herders. Stewart + Brown aspires to apply the wisdom of sustainability to everything. A percentage of all sales go to non-profit, non-governmental environmental and social welfare organizations.

Founded in 1989 in Paris, Majestic Filatures is one of our staples. Their use of silk, linen, cotton, cashmere, and combinations thereof, makes Majestic a go-to for cozy, simple, beautifully made basics.

The cotton-cashmeres in the store now are THE BEST for winter: warm, soft, and durable.  They're heaven in a long sleeve tee.

The season has changed...

All of a sudden, it's actually fall. We're not easing into the season anymore; it's here, and if it's not here for long, it's because even colder weather is just around the corner. Here are a few things to keep you warm:

In addition to the Dupatta scarves that are by now a seasonal staple, we have some beautiful dip dyed scarves from Matta that came in this past week. The fabric is a fine wool/silk blend and the colors are gorgeous:

Caribbean blue fading into elephant grey, dusky purple into olive green, and persimmon into rose.










Also in the store are Carolina Amato cashmere gloves with tiny holes in the forefinger and thumb so perfect, so adorable, (so perfect for using your touch-screen phones and blackberries), that I can't keep from telling just about everyone who walks in the store all about them:


And for something slightly more playful, we also have glittens (gloves and mittens all-in-one!) that have the unusual feature of being able to expose your thumb, too (which means you can wear glittens AND use your iphone AND be adorable all at the same time):

The leaves have fallen, and the snowflakes have made a (very brief) appearance- it must be November in Brooklyn. The store is overflowing with warm and lovely pieces from our favorite designers.
